Bible Teaching
Updated: Aug 13, 2019

We are a Bible believing, evangelical, and protestant fellowship. We are dedicated
to the idea that although not all Christians are called to be Bible teachers, all are
called to be Bible students. Expository preaching means careful study of the Bible
text. Each week the Bible student should and can know a little bit more about a
portion of the Bible. Sunday school and Wednesday nights are additional
opportunities to learn more of the Bible.
Dr. Geoffrey Hubler PhD, head of school at Cornerstone, is our pastor. By calling, Dr.
Hubler is a Bible teacher. He has taught the Bible in many settings: in the city and
the country, at home and abroad over the course of more than 30 years of ministry.
He earned his PhD in New Testament at Oxford University's Wycliffe Hall. He knows
what the Bible says. That is not to say that there is not always more to learn, but
that Bible students can know the essential message of the Bible.
As we learn more about our God and his message of redemption our first impulse,
our first application, always ought to be to acknowledge him, to serve him through
worship. Reflexively, the first impulse of our devotion in worship ought to be to
learn more about him through his word.
